How do I dispose of my refill?

Refills are made from Vivomer, certified Home Compostable. If you have a home compost, that is the ideal disposal route. If not, place it in your general waste bin. Please do not place it in your recycling bin, as it is not compatible with standard recycling streams or local food waste bin.

Will my refill biodegrade in the bathroom?

No — Vivomer behaves just like conventional plastic during normal use. It is stable and sterile throughout its life in your bathroom. Biodegradation only begins when exposed to sufficient microbial activity — the kind found in compost, soil, or marine environments.

If I don't have home compost, where can I dispose of my refill?

Place it in your general waste bin. Vivomer is safe for incineration and, unlike fossil-based plastics, releases biogenic carbon when burned. It is not suitable for recycling bins.

Is my refill recyclable?

No. Vivomer has been tested in sorting facilities across the UK, France, Germany, and the Netherlands and is not compatible with standard recycling streams. Please compost it at home or use general waste.

Do your refills create microplastics?

No. Unlike petroleum-based plastics, Vivomer does not shed persistent microplastics. When Vivomer breaks down, it does so through biological processes, not by fragmenting into lasting plastic particles.
